DomCon LA 2010: Day 4, Saturday

Princess Kali of Boston led a workshop on the “Dragon’s Tail,” which She calls the “most versatile toy in Your tool bag.”
And She’s quite right. It’s a great tool for a novice and extremely versatile in the hands of an experienced Mistress.
The Dragon’s Tail is a special type of whip consisting of a wooden handle wrapped with leather, to which a wide triangular piece of thin leather or suede is attached. This piece of leather or suede forms a lash which is a hollow tube tapering to a point at the striking end.
You can use the tip as a whip, which is its most painful use.
You can use the broader surface of the triangular piece of leather or suede to deliver less pain.
Or, you can fold it over, with the tip and handle in Your hand and use the instrument as a paddle.
Thus, one simple-looking tool can be used as three different devices, with their varying sensations.
Princess Kali demonstrated on a female sub’s ass, starting gently with light thuds. By the time She finished up using the tip of the tail, the sub was moaning and whimpering.
The Pro Domme Social, which I sponsored that evening, was a great success. At least 50 Mistresses attended and slave sea served Us champagne from a silver tray. There were hors d’oeuvres of shrimp cocktail, sandwiches and fruit salad.
The Mistresses were dressed in their fetish finery: boots, leather and latex. And everywhere beautiful breasts bulging out of tight corsets with cinched waists.
The flow of champagne was constant, inducing an atmosphere of bubbly cordiality. Lots of chatter and even more laughter.
Photographer David Jackson of DDI Magazine came in near the end to photograph small groups of Mistresses. There was also a female photographer from LA Weekly, plus others whose affiliations I can’t recall.
The flashing light bulbs were an appropriate finale for what had turned out to be a glamorous and fun gala.
At night, I attended the DomCon LA Fetish Ball/Play Party at LA’s sprawling Passive Arts play space. Kinksters were wheeling in whole suitcases full of their toys. Every room was filled with Mistresses whipping their slaves’ asses or torturing their cocks and balls.
One thing I did notice was that the tide seemed to have turned in a year. This time there were far more FemDom led couples.
